With a distinguished career spanning over four decades, Aldo van Aanholt is a leading authority in heavy equipment safety, inspection, and certification within the Dutch Caribbean. His professional journey is defined by a deep-seated commitment to operational excellence and a tireless mission to eliminate workplace accidents through rigorous education and compliance.

Professional Background & Foundation

Mr. van Aanholt’s expertise is built on a formidable foundation of academic and practical experience. An alumnus of the Shell Business School, he dedicated 34 years to the Isla Refinery, where he specialized in heavy equipment operations. During his tenure, he witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of crane and forklift-related incidents. These experiences became the catalyst for his transition into safety advocacy, fueling a lifelong dedication to accident prevention.

Recognized for his technical aptitude and leadership, Aldo was selected for elite advanced safety training programs in Venezuela and the United States. Upon his return, he became a pivotal figure within the refinery’s safety infrastructure, developing and delivering specialized Heavy Equipment Safety Training for both internal personnel and external contractors.

In 2015, Mr. van Aanholt founded HEITC B.V. (Heavy Equipment Inspection, Training & Certification). What began as a specialized service for the refinery quickly expanded to meet the growing demand for professional safety standards across the region. Today, he provides expert training and inspection services throughout Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, and Sint Maarten.

Aldo’s methodology is unique in its integration of international standards with real-world application. He continuously evolves his curriculum by incorporating data from contemporary accidents and incidents shared by course participants, ensuring that every training session is relevant, impactful, and grounded in the current reality of the field.
